2020 Chacra Pinot Noir Sin Azufre (750ml)15 2 0 0
Chacra was created by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta in 2004 with the intention of finding the most unobstructed expression of the climate, micro-climate, and terrior of Mainqué in the Río Negro region of Patagonia. Respecting the environment by following biodynamic and organic principles, Piero strives to make wines that are transparent, pure, delicate, and floral with strong minerality. The wines are produced with the help of Jean-Marc Roulot (of Burgundy fame), particularly for the Chardonnay. Jean-Marc is not a consultant here. He's a co-owner.
Sin Azufre is a handcrafted personal project by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta himself. It is an experiment of making wine without science - using only the eyes, nose, palette, and reasoning as tools. The organic and biodynamic grapes are harvested from a special section of the Cincuenta y Cinco vineyard.
"Aromas of freshly sliced mushrooms with blackberries, black cherries and some ripe strawberries. Medium to full body with dark fruit and chewy tannins. More structured in past vintages. Rather chewy. No sulfur added here. Drink or hold." 95 points - James Suckling (18 Mar, 2021)
