Offering up loads of ripe herbs, tobacco, olive and darker, earthy berry fruit, the 2008 Le Cigare Volant En Demi-muid (45% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 13% Mourvedre, 7% Cinsault and 5% Carignan aged 20 months in demi-muids) is medium-bodied and lightly textured, with a finesse-driven feel and light tannin framing the finish. There’s not a whole lot of depth of richness here, but it’s drinking beautifully and will be versatile on the dinner table. Drink it through 2018. Drink now-2018. JD (8/2013)

An intense, rustic red with firm, chewy tannins complemented by a rich and elegant core of dark berry, blueberry, tobacco and cedar. This is most pleasant on the finish, where the flavors fold together with focus. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Carignane. Drink now through 2022. JL (2013)
