To pay homage to the special friendship between Giuseppe and Domizio, the property which locally had been known as Cascina Casotto, was re-named after the pine tree and is now the Cantina del Pino.

Branching out from the legendary Produttori del Barbaresco Cooperative, Renato Vacca (the great grandson of Giuseppe Vacca) convinced his father, Adriano, to start their own label in 1997. In 2013 Franca (Renato’s wife) joined the winery. Unfortunately, Renato passed in 2020. Franca, a winemaker in her own right, along with Renato’s parents continues the traditions and dedication to the quality wines of Cantina del Pino, the historic winery on the Ovello Hill.

"A beam of pure cherry and raspberry permeates this intense red, while rose, black pepper, graphite and herbs add detail. Shows terrific harmony, with an extra gear on the finale adding dimension and length. Solid tannins guard the finish. Best from 2029 through 2048. 150 cases made, 60 cases imported.” 96 - Bruce Sanderson, Senior Editor, The Wine Spectator (3/26)

"This is a limited release of 1,800 bottles. The Cantina del Pino 2021 Barbaresco Gallina is balanced and structured with chalky tannins and a powerful 15% alcohol content. The Gallina vineyard sits at 250 meters in elevation with limestone marl and silty soils. I like the way this wine comes together on the nose to show intensity and varietal character.Drink Date: 2026 - 2042.” 95 - Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate (6/25)

"Forest floor, camphor, new leather and dog rose aromas lift out of the glass. Full-bodied but endowed with a weightless finesse, the elegantly structured palate delivers succulent red cherry, tangy blood orange, star anise and ground clove alongside taut, fine-grained tannins. Bright acidity keeps it fresh and dances across the palate. Drink 2029–2036.” 95 - Kerin O’Keefe (5/25)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0092/1419/7817/products/0_0_orig_e392e222-679c-438e-915c-8dc81bfcd313.jpg?v=1604085124
