The wine opens now with developing notes of earth, truffle, and leather to complement the ripe plummy fruit and suggestion of violets. The texture is still concentrated, but the tannins are starting to unwind, leading to a long, complex finish. Although it is starting to drink now, there is nothing but upside potential for this wine, which should continue improving for decades.
