2016 Padelletti Brunello di Montalcino (750ml) Pre-Arrival

"Padelletti is one of the oldest wine-making families in Montalcino, with roots going back to the 16th century. Their vineyard is located at one of the highest elevations (400 meters), northeast of the town of Montalcino. The wines show a depth of color that you’d never expect from Brunello, the result of their clay and calcium soils in the Rigaccini vineyard. To this day, the Padelletti family sells a large portion of the production, yet it continues to make throwback, traditional Brunello that speaks of terroir. This is no-frills winemaking at its best, with a conscious approach in the vineyards and practices in the cellar that remain true to their historical roots.
