2018 Petit Verdot by Belle Vue, Bordeaux (750ml)15 10 0 0
90-92 Wine Advocate
This new cuvée from Château Belle-Vue is produced on a 2.04-hectare vineyard in Macau composed of 100% Petit Verdot old vines planted in 1936, 1940 and 1950. Their average vine age in 2018 was 79 years. The wine is to be aged in 20% new, 25% one-year-old and 40% two-year-old barrels for 14 months and has 14.5% alcohol. Deep purple-black colored, the 2018 Petit Verdot by Belle-Vue is a little reduced, opening out to vibrant crushed blueberries, blackberries and mulberries with underlying dried herbs, dusty soil, camphor and charcoal scents. Medium-bodied, the palate gives mouth-filling, bright, lively fruit with impressive freshness and a chewy finish. Only 10,000 bottles will be made.
