2018 Domaine Didier Dagueneau Pur Sang (750ml)15 2 0 0
Dagueneau is one of France's great, iconic estates making singluar, age-worthy Sauvignon Blancs from the appellation of Pouilly-Fumé. Vines are farmed meticulously with an average of one full-time worker per hectare - unheard of except at top domaines like Bize-Leroy in Burgundy. The cellar is pristine, very cold, and home to many cutting edge experiments like the rare hermetically-sealed glass "wine globe". Today, the domaine is run by fifth generation Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau, whose curiosity and drive have further solidified the domain's place in the upper echelon of the wine world.
Pur Sang is assembled from different parcels of 30+ year-old vines, entirely from argile à silex soil of the butte. It is vinifed and aged in new oak "cigar-shaped" barrels built according to the domaine's specifications. The wine wonderfully reflects the vine age and meticulous work that goes into its production.
