2014 Domaine JM & H Pavelot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er La Dominode (750ml)15 10 0 0
The Pavelot family have been cultivating vines in Savigny-lès-Beaune before the French revolution and have made some of the best wines in the village since.
"The 2014 la Dominode is also going to be a superb wine chez Pavelot, as it offers up a very promising and nascently complex nose of cassis, sweet dark berries, espresso, a touch of graphite, a smoky topnote and a deft framing of cedary wood. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and nicely reserved in personality, with a fine core, lovely soil signature and a very long, ripely tannic and tangy finish. Excellent juice in the making. (Drink between 2024-2060)" 93+ points - John Gilman (View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2015)
"This is aromatically all but mute with its highly reserved nose of wild red berries that are interwoven with plenty of earth, wet stone, spice and sauvage hints. There is a wonderfully refined and seductive, even suave texture to the succulent medium weight and once again pungently mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess driving energy on the detailed, palate coating and gorgeously persistent finish. This is almost always the best wine in the Pavelot range and it may well be again, but the Gravains is definitely going to give it a run for its money." 91-94 points / Sweet spot Outstanding- Allen Meadows (Burghound, Apr 2016)
