2015 Markus Molitor Graacher Domprobst Riesling Kabinett (White Capsule) (750ml)

"Provided with tropical aromas such as passion fruits, the dry 2015 Riesling Graacher Domprobst Kabinett (White Capsule) is deep, ripe, intense and smoky on the nose and is very pure and fascinating in its terroir expression: Domprobst Riesling on the rocks! Full-bodied, round and rich, it is expressive, perfectly balanced and gorgeously lush on the palate and also shows stimulating grip and a lot of salt followed by perfectly ripe fruit flavors in the long, complex finish. It's a grand cru par excellence that comes along with just 10.4 % of alcohol."
"The dry (white capsule) 2015 Riesling Kabinett wines are already exciting, namely the Ürziger Würzgarten and the Graacher Domprobst. They already demonstrate the great characteristics of the vintage: very precise and aromatic on the spicy-mineral and perfectly ripe nose, with intense and concentrated fruit lifted by pronounced yet ripe acidity, vibrating minerals and a long, expressive, very stimulating and tension-filled finish. Molitor's dry Rieslings represent a perfect amalgam of ripe fruits, structuring minerals and electrifying acidity." - SR

This is Molitor’s first Domprobst (from ungrafted vines). What they own are some very steep plots of vineyard with a fine, stony slate soil that is not too dry. It produces full-bodied, slatey wines with great character in the dry range, but also extract-rich late harvest and botrytis grapes with wonderful acidity.
