2016 Renato Corino Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata (750ml)15 5 0 0
Renato Corino has vineyards in the prized La Morra crus of Rocche dell’Annunziata, Arborina, Pozzo, Conca and Roncaglie, mostly Nebbiolo along with Barbera and Dolcetto. Renato built a brand new, state-of-the-art winery to steer production in the same perfectionist fashion that he runs his vineyards. Renato’s son Stefano is also now working alongside his father, helping to craft these unique wines.
"Aromas of dried flowers, strawberries and cherries with some crushed stones. It’s full-bodied with firm, chewy tannins that are polished and beautiful. Shows the excellence of the vintage. Better after 2023." 96 points - James Suckling (27 Jun, 2020)
"Rich, heady and exotic in its beauty, Corino's 2016 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata is a total stunner. In the glass, the 2016 Rocche is seamless and silky, with striking textural richness and persistence. Super-ripe red cherry, red plum, rose petal, mint and kirsch infuse the 2016 with layers of nuance. All the elements meld together in a rich, sumptuous Barolo that captures the essence of this great La Morra cru." 96 points - Antonio Galloni (Vinous, Feb. 2020)
"The Renato Corino 2016 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata shows a soft and slow approach with a silky textural fiber that glides seamlessly over the palate. That effortless lightless is the defining characteristic of this pretty La Morra Barolo made with fruit from 50-year-old vines. Red and blue fruits can be found at the core, and there is pretty spice and tar as well. This wine is accessible even at this early stage, suggesting a drinking window of 10-15 years. A mere 3,500 bottles were made." 94+ points - Monica Larner (Wine Advocate, July 2020)
