Tenuta Sette Ponti lies on historic land in the heart of the Chianti zone at the end of the Via del Monte, known locally as the Via dei Sette Ponti. It is one of Tuscany’s most innovative, quality-driven producers of world-class Super Tuscans.
The Impero Vineyard is one of Tuscany’s oldest vineyards planted in 1935 by the Count of Turin, Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy. Terraces hammered out of marly limestone on a steep slope in the middle of the estate make up this famed vineyard. It is planted of 100% Sangiovese.
"Complex aromas of fresh flowers and cherries follow through to a full body, firm and very silky tannins and a long, long finish. Driven and fine. Drink from 2022." 96 points - James Suckling (25 Apr, 2019)
"This is all about purity, finesse and energy. A line of cherry and raspberry flavors runs through this red, with grace notes of leather, tobacco, graphite and underbrush. Reined-in and firm, yet balanced, with a lingering aftertaste of cherry, mineral and spice. Best from 2021 through 2045. 5,000 cases made, 50 cases imported." 95 points — BS (Wine Spectator, Dec. 2019)
